Mr. Glenn Forsee

In your own words, what is your role as a school board member?

One question has been my guide: What can I do to help a teacher teach a student? The teachers are the frontline force in education. As a board member, I strive to equip them with the tools and support they need to reach the objective with both board action and personal action.

Why did you want to become a member of the school board?

Daily, I live my life with a God purpose. Serving as a school board member has given me another platform to that end.

Outside of serving on the school board, what is your full-time job, and how long have you been in your present work?

I have been a credentialed minister for 46 years. We came to Shelbyville in 1985, serving as pastors at First Assembly of God for 37 years and retiring from pastoring in June 2022. However, we are still very active in pulpit ministry in Bedford Countyand across Tennessee.

Tell us about your family.

Linda and I have been married for 44 years. We have three children, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Woodworking is my escape. My shop is a sanctuary. Every day I find moments of pleasure and fulfillment in life. Just doing life, enjoying the blessings of God, in the moment.

How many years have you served as a school board member?

Since June of 2005, so almost twenty years.

From your time serving on the school board, what are you most proud of?

It would be easy to say the many building projects that the board has processed. Yet, we are in the business of building people, not just buildings. I trust that I’m known for being a friend of students, teachers and administrators.

What area or areas of Bedford County do you represent?

I represent District 9. Link to Bedford County district map.
